Love To Give

Do you remember the feeling? What it was like to do something for someone else that you didn’t have to do but you did it anyway? Do you recall how rewarding it was to be generous? Some people pretty much live their lives that way. But they don’t do it for the feeling. Something bigger is going on. What do truly generous people know? What makes them tick? This Sunday we’re going to find out.
We’re going to take our way-back machine to Judah in the 8th century BC and its new 25-year-old king named Hezekiah in the capital city of Jerusalem. During his reign, it was clear that “the Lord has blessed his people,” and from that came an outpouring of generosity.
To prepare your heart and mind, read 2 Chronicles 31:2-10. If you want to read more of the context, the account of Hezekiah’s reign can be found in chapters 29-32.
