Busy. Being busy has become our national mentality. We work tirelessly to ensure security in our jobs, our families, our homes, and our health. Where do we find time for daily encounter with God? Yes, we know there is value in daily Bible reading and spending quite time in prayer, but our daily to-do lists often steamrolls any chance of making these practices a routine. This message is about an unexpected daily conversation that started with the humming of a favorite hymn from my childhood, “This is the Day.” I’ll share my reflections and insights from using this song to create mini-conversations with God each day for 10 weeks – conversations that allowed me to experience his presence in spite of my self-inflicted schedule. Hopefully others will take away ideas of how create daily reflection and conversation in the midst of being busy.
