How many of us watch a commercial for the latest hi-tech phone and find ourselves salivating? Suddenly the phone we’ve had just a few months seems dated. Dinosaur-ish. Gotta trade up and get the next new thing.
Maybe for you it’s not a phone. Maybe it’s a car or a computer or clothes. Can’t wait until I can get rid of this old couch and get a nicer one. We always want to trade up for something better. But in some areas of our lives that kind of thinking can be dangerous. It can even be stupid. To get ready, read the parable of the rich fool in Luke 12:13-21.
